Online Access Security

Access to Verteego is protected via a username and password. Only once you successfully login to Verteego can you modify your organization’s sustainability report. Each organization on Verteego Report has its own secure partition, so there’s no chance that another Verteego customer will be able to see any of your sustainability data.

SSL Encryption

All Verteego accounts, be they free plans or fully-fledged, use SSL (Secure Socket Layer). As a result, Verteego may be slower to browse, but it is as secure as your online banking system.

Verteego uses SSL to encrypt the information passing between the browser and the server to stop hackers from accessing your data while it travels over the Internet between Verteego and you.

Secure Sustainability Information

Limit who in your team can see your organization’s sustainability information. Allow management team members to see everything and be able to make changes, and other staff or external contractors to either see what is relevant for them or everything without the possibility for them to make any change.

Hosting Environment

Verteego is hosted by Ikoula who manages high availability hosting facilities hosting many other mission critical business applications. Ikoula was selected by Verteego for 2 reasons: Ikoula was the first hosting service in France to make a bold move towards environmental hosting; the Ikoula team is responsive and friendly. The Verteego team puts in its best effort to run full 24x7 operational monitoring and systems administration services.

People

Verteego and Ikoula provide staff 24 hours a day. The hosting facilities maintain a very high standard of physical security with all access restricted by card access with 24x7 video surveillance, and is regularly patrolled by security personnel. In the event that an issue arises with the hardware that runs Verteego, Verteego staff can liase with data centre staff on the ground to resolve issues and where required Verteego can swiftly move to restore the secondary backup site.

Back-ups and Recovery

Your sustainability data is very important and we have several mechanisms in place to ensure that should a disaster occur, we can recover quickly with minimal disruption to your Verteego service. You may lose up to 1 day of data input only.

Automated Off-site Back-ups

All Verteego customer data is automatically backed-up on to a Storage Area Network (SAN) in the data centre where the servers that run Verteego are located. To further protect Verteego from a disaster that could occur in the data centre, every day all your data is sent securely to a secondary back-up data centre, located in a different city (Ikoula runs 2 remote datacenters in France). This ensures that we can recover from a major disaster in a reasonable timeframe with very minimal data loss if any.
